NOLA Fog, February 1, 2016

Some lovely fog this morning on Frenchmen Street
I tried to catch some, but I MIST....
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
#OldestJokeEver #StillHilarious  :-)
I walked across the street to Washington Square and snapped a few photos. Then, on my drive to UNO, I decided to go a few more blocks up to Lake Pontchartrain and back through the main entrance of campus. They're just iPhone photos (and copied from my own FB post so LOW quality), but enjoy!

A Monday Morning Prayer

Holy Spirit,
Help me to embrace this new day with open arms and to share the good gifts you have given me with gladness, sincerity, and generosity. Help me to trust in you, always.
Amen.

Canticle: Christ as a Light, Illumine and Guide Me

Holy light at Sameba Cathedral in Tbilisi, Georgia

"Canticle"

Christ, as a light
illumine and guide me.
Christ, as a shield
overshadow me.
Christ under me;
Christ over me;
Christ beside me
on my left and my right.
This day be within and without me,
lowly and meek, yet all-powerful.
Be in the heart of each to whom I speak;
in the mouth of each who speaks unto me.
This day be within and without me,
lowly and meek, yet all-powerful.
Christ as a light;
Christ as a shield;
Christ beside me
on my left and my right.

Now That Daylight Fills the Sky

Now that the daylight fills the sky, we lift our hearts to God on high,
That he in all we do or say, Would keep us safe from harm today.

Not sure what kind of flower this is, but I photographed it in Innsbruck, Austria back in 2010.

For the Beauty of the Earth

For the beauty of the earth, for the glory of the skies,
for the love which from our birth,
over and around us lies;
Lord of all, to thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.
For the beauty of each hour of the day and of the night,
hill and vale, and tree and flower,

sun and moon, and stars of light;
Lord of all, to thee we raise...this our hymn of grateful praise.

Moments of Quietness

Christ, our all in all,
into your presence I come, Lord;
a few moments of quietness,
closeness
in a busy world
that demands my attention.
Breathe on me now,
that I might know your power
to see this day though.

I Arise Today

I arise today
embraced in the arms
of God the Father,
empowered by the strength
of God the Spirit,
immersed in the love
of God the Son.
I arise today
in the company
of the Trinity,
Father, Spirit and Son.
I arise today.

Morning Has Broken

"Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for the springing fresh from the world"

Crescent Moon from the Crescent City

Yesterday morning, around 5:00 a.m., the garbage trucks were making SO MUCH NOISE. After they were finally fading away, I rolled over to go back to sleep and I saw the fat crescent moon out of my window. For a second, I closed my eyes and then I jumped up because I HAD to get that picture! HA! This is the result.......not too shabby :-)
